Climate measurement in the greenhouse proves its value

Climate measurement is a recurring theme in greenhouse horticulture. Ten years ago, climate measurement was necessary to gain insight into temperature and humidity differences in (semi-)closed greenhouses. With this type of greenhouse, it was necessary to gain new insights into the climate based on measurement data.

Nowadays, climate measurement is essential for optimal cultivation, taking energy consumption and plant load into account. By monitoring a large part of the greenhouse with a wireless sensor set, it is possible to see whether or not you are exceeding the limit.

Wireless Value has been supplying these sets since 2008. Monitoring the climate across the horizontal plane or across different heights can provide significant insight. We know from practical experience that growers use this set to further refine and optimize their screening strategies.

Various practical examples show that wirelessly monitoring the heating network in the greenhouse can lead to astonishing results. For example, a climate measurement once revealed that one section of the greenhouse was incorrectly connected, with supply and return running in reverse order compared to the rest. This made creating a consistent greenhouse climate impossible. Without accurate measurement of the heating network, this would have resulted in lost revenue, with the cause being difficult to determine.

The data collected with our wireless sensors is easily visualized using an online portal that is continuously being improved. The data can now be easily overlaid on the greenhouse via Google Maps, for example, to gain further insight into specific areas. 3D visualization models are also being developed to provide better insight into multi-layer monitoring. This gives you, as a grower, a detailed picture of your greenhouse's climate for optimal results.
